A couple weeks ago we were able to join Austin New Church as they hosted their annual Easter service under the Interstate 35 bridge in downtown Austin. Hundreds of people from all over the city and from all walks of life came to celebrate the holiday together. It was a beautiful picture of what community can look like.
Families hosted tables for anyone who wanted to join. Hamburgers were cooked and served by the members of the church. A NEW pair of shoes were available for everyone in attendance in need of some good work boots or tennis shoes. The shoes were donated by people from all over the country through Legacy Collective @legacycollect. We had the honor of passing out over 600 pair of new socks for anyone in need of a fresh pair to go along with their new shoes. There were also bags of hygiene items given out.
There was plenty of fun to be had as well with kids playing football, the band playing music, and conversations happening all around. We are thankful to be part of such a great community. And you all are part of that community that makes these giving events possible for us. Thanks for your purchases that allow us to give to those in need! Strong work, Mitscoots Community. You are making a difference.
