Something that we as a team constantly remind ourselves of is: Who are we doing this for? The answer to that is always intentionally centered around helping those in need. We definitely carried that mindset onto how we planned our Open-House-Party. Not only did we want to showcase our new retail and production space but we wanted guests to have a taste of our mission.
Everyone was invited to see just how we operate! Our retail space presented the gear and our production area showed where orders are packaged by someone transitioning out of homelessness. As people got the grand tour, they were encouraged to put together care packages at our Giving Station so that they could walk away from the party with something to give. Each of these care packages were filled with socks, granola bars, soap and other goodies!
In true Austin style, we made it into a community event by inviting other local vendors into the fun! Our outdoor Give-Back Market included amazing companies like Noonday, Raven + Lily, Purse & Clutch, Fox + Brie, Nadamoo and Dear Coffee Company. Each of them passionate about giving back. It was seriously so fun to see everyone excited and interacting with all of them!
Adding onto this warm atmosphere was walking under the glowing strings of lights and seeing kids laughing and twirling to the fun music of local bluegrass band, The Barton Strings Band. We also had Chi’lantro BBQ’s food truck parked and ready to cater us with their oh-so-delicious Kimchi Fries! Not to mention having top notch drinks from Paula's Texas Spirits, Hops & Grain, and Treaty Oaks Distillery. We’re so thankful to everyone who came out to share this fun night with us, as well as the businesses who linked arms with us to share in this incredible community time. Our hope was that together, we can invite more and more people to think about how everyday products can have immense impact on social issues.
